'...One’s Wicked Ways is funny and serious and highly engaging, Limosani’s deft timing and acute sense of theatre making it clear why she was awarded the 2015 Ausdance Peggy van Praagh Choreographic Fellowship.'

ONE'S WICKED WAYS

FALL IN

UNDER MY SKIN

This short work was commissioned by Garry Stewart's Australian Dance Theatre as part of The Worlds Smallest Stage season. Initated during lockdowns, the aim of this project was to create new dance works at home. Choreographers were asked to create works in a 2m x 2m space – an area that would be accessible to anyone living in a house or small apartment.

Accession is my investigation into how contemporary dance and black-art theatre and illusion can cross-pollinate to open new ways of thinking about choreography, imagery and movement language. I am channelling my investigation through the western nursery rhythm ‘Jack and Jill’. This work celebrates themes of truth/illusion; the concrete/the ephemeral; reality as crisis/our idealised vision of reality.

DANCE AUSTRALIA

'Lina Limosani's Accession's duet performed brilliantly by ADT dancers, Christopher Mills and Darci O’Rourke, is a stand-out exploration of the shifting power dynamic between two people.'
