This project brings together the highly distinctive voices of Australian Choreographer Lina Limosani and Scottish Director in The Spinners, a story of the Greek Moirai, the trio of women who are the physical manifestation of fate and destiny. The first of the Moirai spins the thread of life, the second measures it, and the third cuts it. In this way the Moirai decide the fates of all human beings and, in a sense, preside over the laws of time.
The Spinners brings the Fates down to earth and re-imagines them living in the heart of a sprawling city. From their humble apartment, they oversee the births and deaths of all human beings. Drawing thread from their own bodies they weave mannequins, imbuing them with the breath of life. These mannequins form a giant web: the interconnectedness of all human journeys. When a human life is nearing its end the corresponding mannequin is committed to the ether.
Through stunning visual imagery, an immersive original score, dance, and theatre, The Spinners is an exhilarating journey into myth and imagination. Virtuoso dancers play the three Fates who spin, measure, and cut the thread of life, creating an emotionally charged dance-theatre performance that weaves together themes of mortality, freewill, and sisterhood.

THE LIST
'Embodied with a fabulously fierce, seemingly telepathic focus by Limosani, Tara Jade Samaya and Kialea-Nadine Williams, these apocalyptic warrior-witches treat their responsibility with poker-faced dedication.'
THE WEE REVIEW
'The Spinners is a most unusual dance work: futuristic and ancient undertones; incredibly fast-paced as well as thoughtful; it's a highly original blend of storytelling and pure dance. It uses an old tale in such a way that it speaks to us 21st century folk, makes comment on contemporary themes as all good art should - no preaching, no clunkiness.'
